Bubba's Cataract Surgery

Our Bubba

The "no hands hug"

We have to keep it a little dark- his eyes are sensitive to light.

Emma hangin' right next to Bubs in Levi shorts and cowgirl boots!

Good News! Bubba's surgery went very smoothly- no complications at all. He had the cataract removal surgery on Wednesday morning and was able to come home that afternoon. He is on 24/7 watch and in an E-collar for 6 weeks with expected recovery time to be 16 weeks. Right now he is really tired and getting used to seeing again- YEAH. He is eyes are a little goopy because of all the drops he is on(3 different drops, 4 times a day in both eyes)- but he is improving everyday. Now we just have 6 weeks more of meds and no playing, barking, rolling around..... basically no acting like a dog. Oh Boy!

Emma has become his little helper. Unfortunately she doesn't understand that he needs to wear the collar and he can't have fingers or toys in the collar with him- so that has been challenging. Nevertheless we are soooo excited the surgery went well and that Bubs can see again!!!!

How do you keep a dog from acting like a dog? Poor Bubs. I'm very glad he is able to see again and hope his recovery is fast. With such a good helper it should be! Bubba, enjoy it while you can!
