Liberty Day Parade

The "Liberty Day Parade" in Boise was quite the let down. It was like watching an hour long advertisement for Master Rooter Plumbing, Stinker Station Gas and Idaho Democrats. Yikes! We had such high hopes for floats, marching bands and dance teams but to our surprise none of that happened. There was one team of bag pipe players, one dance team- that did nothing but clap their way through the parade, and LOTS of businesses advertising. Luckily we met our friends the Hays at the parade so the girls and JP ran around and played to help pass the boredom. All I can say is at least the girls got some candy and liked watching the cars drive past. They did look pretty cute too!

 Emma patiently waiting...

Ellie took some time to chill out and color.
Though later all the crayons melted in the hot summer air and were of no use after that.

JP, Emma and Ellie with their "coffee" aka hot chocolate!

Ellie, Emma and JP on a cannon outside the capital building.
Even though we couldn't get them all to look at the camera- they were all pretty stinking cute that day!

The girls with JP and some new friends!

Ellie in her favorite spot... Daddy's arms!

A view of the oncoming parade...

 Ellie opening some parade candy...

The group watching old firetrucks pass by...

Here is the funniest picture of the day!
Both the Bens (Ben and our friend Ben Hay) shading the kids with blankets! It was super hot and the kids were starting to get pink. So voila- instant shade! Nice work!
